The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA), a leading private accrediting agency in the Philippines, recognized Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC) with four prestigious awards during its 32nd Annual General Assembly on December 6-7, 2021 via Zoom video conferencing.

IMCC was awarded second place in the best research competition, second place in the best community extension/outreach activities competition and third place in the best poster contest. The winning entry in the best research competition discussed the importance of organisational, teacher, and administrative factors in fostering quality improvement implementation in higher education institutions.

Meanwhile, overcoming poverty through Disaster Risk Reduction & Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), DRRM and CCA for Health, Delivery of Social and Humanitarian Services, Livelihood and Financial Management, Peace and Security, Peace and Intercultural Understanding and Disaster Risk Sensitive Sustainable Communities for sustainable development was the theme of the winning entry in the best community extension/outreach activities competition.

IMCC’s winning entry in the best poster contest portrayed how accreditation bridges the gap to the future and plays a role in improving the quality of education in IMCC.

One of the highlights of the event is the awarding of the grant of 1 million PhP worth of books from C&E alternative learning solutions to one member institution of PACUCOA. Among the member institutions nationwide, IMCC was recognized as the lone awardee of the said grant.

Through the years and even during these times of significant change, IMCC remains buoyant by continuously providing quality education through intensive instruction, research, and community extension programs. The awards were a testament to the hard work of the IMCC community, headed by its school president, Dr. Royce S. Torres, in upholding the standards of higher education not only in the Philippines, but also in the world.
