Calio Wins Best Presenter Award
Dr. Eufemio L. Calio, Dean for Academic Affairs won first place as Best Paper Presenter during the First Iligan Medical Center College Faculty Research Forum held on August 4, 2010 at the AVR. His paper, which he co-authored with Mr. Adonis N. Corre, was a correlational study on the “Levels of Engagement of Alejo Group of Chowking Companies’ Employees.” Results of the study showed that there was a low correlation coefficient between respondents’ level of employee engagement and level of job performance. This suggested that employee engagement did not necessarily impact job performance.
Second placer Dindo Donald A. Manulat, Jr. with co-authors, Jeffry B. Palacio and Jeffrey L. Barranco, presented the “Iligan Medical Center College Alumni Tracer System,” a web-based, user-friendly technology that facilitates the gathering and retrieving of data electronically from the alumni of the school. Third placer, Dean Elizabeth Alagar who co-authored with Clarie M. Bontol and Cherry Jill Cabarteja on “ The Nurse Uniform: Its Impact on Patients and their Family,” found out that the white scrub top and pants and the white dress gave the impressions of competence and professionalism to patients and their families. Recipients of consolation prizes were Sheila C. Labata, Agnes M. Ablin, Cheryl T. Tudao, Cristina Darlyn Q. Docog, of the College of Nursing and Charmie L. Mahusay, from the College of Computer Studies.
